Giacomo Carrara got his Master's degree in Physics, focused on quantum optics and quantum information, at Universita degli studi di Milano in 2019, with a thesis about quantum optical states in quantum information tasks. From 2019 to 2023 he was a PhD student in the group of Prof. Dr. Dagmar Bruss, at the Heinrich Heine University in Duesseldorf, under the supervision of Dr. Glaucia Murta specializing in theoretical quantum cryptography in networks. From January 2024 he is employed in the Photonics Research Group at UGent, with the task of leading the dissemination and outreach part of the national BeQCI project, with the goal of deploying a quantum communication network in Belgium.
