Objective: - Generic Approach to Manufacturable Optoelectronic Interconnects for VLSI Circuits
INTEC's Role: - Design and fabrication of bottom emiiting 980 nm (and 850 nm) LED-arrays
- Targets phase I : array size : 8x8, bit rate : 150 MHz, efficiency : 2%
- Targets phase II : 980/850 nm, array size ; 32x32, bit rate : 450 MHz, efficiency : 5%, supply voltage compatible with 3.3V CMOS
- Develop mounting process (Au-Au solder bump, flip-chip mounting) for hybridisation of optoelectronic devices on VLSI circuits
- Target phase I : 8x8 LED-array mounted on Si I-chip
- Design, constroction, integration and testing of phase I and phase II demonstrators
