We report evidence of correlated photon pair generation in silicon waveguies (Si-w) with a continuous wave (CW) pump beam via the degenerated four-photon cattering process. The photon pairs are generated in the spectral region around 1540nm and the correlation betweenthe Stokesand anti-Stokes photonsare exhibited by a temporal coincidence measurement using single-photon detectors. The peak power ofth pump beam in our experiment is two orders of magnitude lower than inpreviously reported expiments (which used pulsed pump beams). Our result may eable the future realiation of fully integrated quantum information optics based on Slicon-on-Insulator (SOI) technology.
