Tom Vanackere received his BSc and MSc in Engineering physics from Ghent University (Belgium) in 2017 and 2019 respectively. Shortly after he started working on his PhD in the Photonics research group. The focus of his research is the heterogeneous integration of Lithium Niobate on Silicon and Silicon nitride through micro-transfer printing. The main goal of this research is the realization of high-speed (100 GHz), efficient electro-optic modulators for optical IO and quantum applications. His research interests also include integrated nonlinear and quantum optics and high-speed electronics for photonics.
