Shibnath Pathak received his M.Sc. degree in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras(India) in June 2009. As a part of M.Sc. degree he completed his master thesis on "Near field scanning microwave microscopy". In November 2009 he joined the department of information technology (INTEC) at Ghent University as a PhD student in the photonics research group. His main research interests are simulation and design of silicon awg and optical switch.
