Duration: 1/4/2017-31/3/2022 Objective: - Scale Silicon Photonic Circuits to tens of thousands of components that can be tuned or configured to a specific application
- Research new photonic circuit topologies where light is distributed over multiple pathways.
- Develop generic reconfigurable circuits (programmable photonics) that can perform different functions.
- Implement control algorithms based on natural processes (e.g. swarms) that can scale with larger photonic circuits.
